CLAIR HORN EYECARE OPENS OFFICE IN ASHLAND

Optometrists Dr. Russell H. Horn, O.D., and Dr. Jacqueline Clair-Horn, O.D., of Clair Horn Eyecare are opening an office in Ashland this month at 933 Siskiyou Boulevard. They have been practicing in the Rogue Valley since 1996 and opened a practice in Medford in 2007. The Yreka office, which opened in 2008, is relocating to Ashland.

Both doctors went to Pacific University majoring in biology, intending to apply to the optometry graduate program in Forest Grove. They met on the dance floor at a weekend dance and kept the romance alive through optometry school at Pacific, where they received their doctorates. While there, Jacqueline was the recipient of an “Excellence in Patient Contact Lens Care” award from Vistakon.
The focus at Clair Horn Eyecare is quality eyecare and personal attention. “We are a family optometry practice that prides itself on the individual care and attention we provide all of our patients,”

Jacqueline said. “Our goal is to serve our patients by helping them with their personal eye health and providing them with professional and state-of-the-art eyecare. The eye doctors and staff believe that healthy eyesight is vital to a high quality of life.”

The office provides comprehen-sive eye exams, contact lens exams, diabetic exams, post operative Lasik and cataract care, Lasik consultation, contact lenses and a large frame and sunglass selection.
After graduating in 1994, Jacqueline, a native of Colorado, moved back to Colorado where she practiced at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, while Russell did his last year externship. Russell immigrated to Oregon from Scotland as a child and spent most of his life here, including his college education in Forest Grove.

“Our love of the beautiful state of Oregon drew us to Southern Oregon in 1996,” Russell said. “After a lot of thought and consideration, we decided to move the Yreka location this month to Ashland and look forward to providing the same great care for patients. We have always loved the city of Ashland. I played in an Ashland soccer league for many years and Jacqueline took lyrical jazz dance classes at SOU’s extended campus for many years. Besides enjoying Ashland’s theaters, many restaurants and shops, we also have many friends in the community and treasure the simpler moments over the years, like taking a stroll with our kids and a good cup of coffee in Lithia Park.”
