Acupuncturist Janet Moret Has A New Office

August 2017

Acupuncturist Janet MoretLicensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist Janet Moret is in a new location at 1829 Nebraska Avenue. Janet’s love affair with acupuncture began in the early 1990s when she was teaching a tai qi class in southern California.

“One of my students was a Shiatsu massage therapist and that intrigued me, so I signed up to study Shiatsu massage,” Janet said. “Part of the curriculum briefly introduced Acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and I recall saying to myself, ‘Oh, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.’”

In 1992 she enrolled in Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Santa Monica, graduating with honors in 1995. After practicing in California for five years, she moved to Grant Pass in 2000, establishing her own practice.
“For 22 years of private practice, I continue to embrace the positive results I have seen over the years,” Janet said. “Never once have I become bored or disenchanted with this profession. There is a wonderful network in the valley of MDs, Nurse Practitioners, Chiropractors and Naturopaths who I refer patients to when I feel I cannot address all their needs, and reciprocally I receive their referrals. Working hand in hand with other health care providers offers the best treatment available to patients.”

Janet works by appointment three days a week, generally on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, and is available Mondays and Thursdays if needed.

“I treat with very fine, sterile, disposable acupuncture needles placed in various parts of the body depending on symptoms,” she said. “Nutrition and lifestle advice are included. Free consultations are available for those who wish to learn more about my services and what can be done to assist them with their needs for optimum health.”

Acupuncture is highly effective treatment for pain anywhere in the body, sciatica, headaches, gastrointestinal disorders, insomnia, depression, fatigue, allergies, addiction to food or drugs, and high blood pressure, to name just a few.

“Patients tell me they feel very relaxed after treatment and sleep the best they have in years,” Janet said. “Most report some reduction in symptoms after the first treatment. However, it may take additional treatments depending on how long the symptoms have been occurring. Acute symptoms generally respond to treatment more quickly than chronic symptoms. It depends entirely on the patient, and every treatment is specifically designed for each patient.”
